Discovering Your Purpose!

I believe that most young adults are truly indecisive as to what their purpose is in life. Some right after high school go to college to help them reach that decision and their calling, while others decide to start or continue to work after high school. Either way by doing either or, it is okay if you don’t know you’re purpose and you’re still trying to figure out this thing called life. It is perfectly fine, don’t freak out. It is not the end of the world and no you are NOT a failure. You will experience times while you're trying to discover yourself and your gifts, that people will talk down upon you and say negative things about you, but are you going to let that stop you from finding your purpose? Are they in your position? Do they know what you had or have to encounter mentally or emotionally to discover yourself? NO!! Why should you allow the opinion of others to determine what you should do with yourself? Their opinions are pointless.

The best way to discover your purpose, the reason you were put here on this Earth is by listening to what the Holy Spirit is telling you and by reading His word! Getting closer to God will not leave you confused or stressed, but you will have a clear mindset and your vision will become so clear. Your heart will be full of relief and freedom. Most of the times your purpose is tied into what it is that you are passionate about. If your passion is music, then your purpose will be surrounded by music. If your passion is dancing, writing, etc., then your purpose will be surrounded by those things as well. God doesn’t place these things into our lives as our passion for no apparent reason, there is a PURPOSE behind it all. There is a reason you didn’t get that job, there is a reason a certain relationship or friendship didn’t work out, it's due to it being connected to your divine purpose in life.

Don’t become discouraged when things don't go your way or disappointments take place. Don’t allow people to feed you negativity and don’t allow it to stick to you. You’re still breathing right? Okay, well your mission isn’t complete and God is not done with you yet. Keep your feet planted and your head held high. Stay consistent in prayer and ask for guidance and wisdom daily! Most importantly, build a relationship with God and He will reveal your purpose to you!

James 1:17 “God’s greatest desire is for Him to be glorified through your relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Your purpose and destiny will unfold as you turn to God daily through prayer, study, worship, and guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
