Picture yourself driving down the highway and it begins to rain. As you continue on your journey; the rain gets harder, heavier and hits the windshield faster than the wipers can wipe. It starts to become dark and harder to see what lies ahead, but you continue to drive. The wind seems as if it is going to swallow your car up. There are cars pulling over because the rain seems unbearable, but you keep on going believing that God will get you to your destination safely. Eventually you made it out of the storm. The storm may have seemed to take forever, but the time wasn’t long at all.
Isn’t that how life is? Sometimes our storms seem so unbearable. Our problems seem to flood our life and our vision becomes blurred. You always hear the sun will shine again, but going through the storm it seems impossible. Storms come in many forms, but if you have a strong foundation you will be able to stand. Every storm comes with a lesson. You have to know that you are built for everything that comes your way. Matthew 7: 25 (NIV) says “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.” God prepares us for the storms and He tells us that the storms will come for certain, but there is a reason.
Storms come to test us and if you just keep going you will pass on to the next level. The effects of the storm can destroy lives and leave your life in shambles, but that is because your life is not built on a solid foundation to withstand the storm. You must remember that storms will come and storms will go, but you will reap the harvest sooner or later. Put your trust in Jesus and continue to grow in Him to withstand the storms that are to come. You do not want to be destroyed by the effects of your trial, but you want to rise above and continue to go higher in God. Take everything to Jesus and have faith. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39, KJV).” Your storm will pass over and the sun will shine again.
